Tractors were designed to pull another vehicle at low speed but high power. Generally, an agricultural vehicle exerting force on the soil is attached behind a tractor; this could be for digging or churning the soil or preparing the land for seed. When harvest time arrives, the harvester can be used to remove full-grown crops from the land. In addition, they are used for distributing fertiliser and pesticides.
Fuel in tractors
Tractors have been around for several centuries but remain an indispensable vehicle in agriculture. Usually they run on fuels such as diesel or bio-diesel; contrary to times gone by, petrol, LPG, and kerosene are rarely used today. Most tractors can pull weights of several thousand kilos, depending on the bhp in their engine and the number of axles.
Pedals and cabin
Modern tractors have four to five pedals. From left to right they are the clutch, two brake pedals, the throttle, and optionally a fifth pedal for the differential lock. The cabin generally offers space for two, but often even three people. Tractors, on average, have a long lifespan and with proper maintenance remain functional for many years.
Adverts for tractors on Tradus
Tradus has a wide range of adverts for used tractors. John Deere is a very popular and much sold brand, but tractors by New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Fendt, and Claas are also offered for sale on a regular basis. In addition, we see a lot of adverts for brands such as Case IH, Deutz, Valtra, and Ford.
